Block Island... The scout camp is the only place on the island where anyone (including home owners) can pitch a tent.

Canoe trip across the Okefenokee Swamp. Wait until the temperatures are a bit cooler though. Prepare to see lots of 'gators.

Also many great segments of the AT to backpack.

A local troop is considering a trip to the Maine High Adventure area...when I was 16, I did an Allagash Wilderness Waterway trip there with my troop, and it was fantastic (it was a national high adventure area back then). One of my friends loved it so much that he became a guide there the next two summers.

Pamlico cancelled our week this year (and the week before) due to lack of interest, and refunded our money. If you go, be sure to have a Plan B (we didn't...didn't even occur to us that it might be cancelled).

Treasure Island ;)

It may be hometown bias, but its really a great camp. I always have looked forward to it as a scout and even now as an adult.

Oldest continually running scout camp, birthplace of the OA, and as far as I know, the only scout camp that is actually an island. Layout of the camp and the program are pretty awesome too.

Cape Henlopen in Delaware

http://www.destateparks.com/chsp/chsp.htm

Great in spring, very early summer, or the fall.

Terrible bugs & ticks in summer.

Youth site is a nice open field with a water spigot and portables, beach is great, WWII guns and watch towers are really neat. A good place for bikes. Explore the Delaware bay during low tide.
