BSA Whitewater Merit Badge

Recommended Posts

We're going to Colorado this summer, for the 2nd year in a row, to get our guys the whitewater merit badge. We use Lost Paddle Rafting, and they are great! Their guide that does the whitewater training, Talmadge, is an Eagle Scout who can sign off blue cards. He is also a parent and a school teacher, so he is very good with the kids. They conduct the training on a class II and III section of river called "Bighorn Sheep Canyon", in inflatable kayaks called duckies. The kids had a blast with it last season. They cover everything required for the badge along with a lot of additional information too. These guys really do a good job of making the boys earn it. I recommend this outfitter to anyone looking to get the whitewater merit badge, or just looking for an absolutely great time! You'll want to talk to Jim, the Operations Director. He is a very helpful guy, and really good at coordinating these kinds of excursions. here is their contact information if you're interested. (you can look this up on the net)

I originally posted this as a reply in a different thread. Then I decided to start a new one just for the Whitewater Merit Badge. They are a small family owned and operated outfit, I'd like to send them some business in appreciation for their hard work and dedication. (This message has been edited by a staff member.)
