CousCous are a middle eastern food. The best way I can explain it is think of pasta ground down to pellets half the size of a grain of rice. Because the grains are so small, cooking time it practically nothing. You add the boiling water the recipe calls for, mix it up and you are ready to eat. Since it is a pasta, it needs something for flavor, so you can get pine nut, chicken, etc flavors. Look for it in the ethnic food section of your grocery. Dice op some smoke flavored Spam and you'll wonder why you dont eat that way more often.

CousCous are a complex carbohydrate for high energy, perfect for back packing.
