I just filled out the poll and added my recommendations for lower costing uniforms. I am a firm believer in having as official of a uniform as possible, but when the uniform costs go beyond what most people would pay for their dressy clothes (and well beyond what they would pay for their kids dressy clothes), something needs to change.

What kind of a poll was that? No wonder we have the uniforms we have. Only one choice about changes in the pants? Do we really have to buy outside of the USA to get cheaper uniforms? So what if they guarantee satisfaction? You need a uniform, you buy what is offered! The present shirts and pants are as poor a quality work/uniform item as I have seen anywhere. We just get charged a lot of money for them. I have lately switched to olive mil-spec BDU pants for my uniform. Same BSA olive, reinforced seams, great big cargo pockets, cotton/poly that never needs ironing, and they were less than ten bucks from a sporting goods catalog. Even buying these things from the local army/navy store, they don't cost over $30.00. Why doesn't National Supply deal with a mil-spec manufacturer? They certainly know how to make functional, sturdy clothing.I would have mentioned this, but the poll site doesn't have a place for comments. At about a hundred bucks a pop, it's no wonder we can't get our Scouts in full uniform.

SM143, do you have link to where you got your pants? The same color? I've found close, but not the same color. In a thift shop, you can pick out a pair of Scout pants on the rack from a mile away, nothing else is that color. ;-)

I seem to remember filling out that same poll a while back.

We ought to call the 1-800 number and talk w/ someone direct. I wonder if the sales rep lurks on this board, wish they would.

1-800-323-0732 is the number.(This message has been edited by Eagle1973)
