I jsut returned from the local Scout Shop and found some of the "old Style" shorts that the JAmboree catalog was selling. Since most of the uniform items don't ahve price tags I had to ask the obvious. The response was $20 for the old style. I asked if they would sew on the jambo logo and sell them to me for $15.00. They just don't have a sense of humor in the shop.

Well I agree with the sentiment about the cost and durablity of the official uniform but here's another thing to consider. As adults we shouldn't need to buy new pants that often unless we quit smoking or the camp food gets *real* good. So buying one -two pairs that will last forever is a good idea. I went from wearing a suit everyday to casual clothes. I've had to replace dockers and Khakis more often and I know I wear the uniform just as frequently and there is no comparison.

So setting up exchanges is a real good idea, but don't expect the District to do it (to much paperwork) it should be done at the unit level.
