ScootCraft@Shenandoah_Rox 10
i was researching my patch collection and i wrote down all the little numbers, but what i really want to know is if the T's (like in T1) or the S's ( S23) has any sort of signifigance.
Twocubdad 665
T stands for twill meaning that part of twill background fabric shows through and is part of the design. S is for solid and means that the patch is covered solid in stitching. There are are several other types of patches: felt, bullion (made with thick stitching, almost like a rug), woven, and a few more. The numbers are assigned sequentially as the patches are issued. Skyhook 10
Ok this bullion patch, I think I have one from lodge 381 which may fall under the catagory let me know a little more about it. thanks
scoutldr 732
I think that Bullion refers to the thread, which is actually metal wire. The best example of a bullion patch is the Fleur-de-lis patch which is worn on a blue blazer for the dress uniform. Not to be confused with mylar thread which is plastic but looks shiny like gold or silver.
