Elaine 10
I'd like to encourage your pack or troop to attend your town's Veteran's Day ceremonies this Saturday. Take a den or patrol in uniform. Usually, the boys will get to participate in the ceremonies - if only just standing "up front". I think it's a good opportunity for the boys to do "service to country. rp181 10
I agree! I have been reminding our district units to take advantage of our ceremony. Normally it falls during the school day and the kids don't get to go. Our local Vet. organizations really support scouting and it's great to be able to support them as well. Stan Riddle 10
Our small twon will be celebrating our 150 anniversay in conjunction wiht Veteran's Day. Our troop will be conducting the flag ceremony for the opening of the celebration. It's a wonderful way for Scouting to give back to the community, get some much needed positive exposure for BSA, and get some requirements in for our youngest Scouts.
