Recently went on a 50miler with a few boys(had a great time by the way). We were hoping to finish up the Backpacking MB on this trip, as well as earn the 50miler award. Is this possible? I've had several discussions within the adult leadership of my troop, and we are divided. Any advice out there? Link to post Share on other sites
Eagle69 46 Posted August 26, 2009 Share Posted August 26, 2009 It is possible to have one trip be able to get two awards, but for the Merit Badge part it depends on what the Counselor says and thinks. Looking at the requirements there are a lot of prerequisites that would have needed to be done before you went that relate directly to what you did while on the trip. It was determined that all req's for the backpacking MB have been met, as well as all req's for the 50miler award. The problem is the 50miler application (ie:...as written on the app.: (note: this award does not apply if any other award is available for this trip.). Therein lies the problem. Is the MB an award?
