I'm curious. Long, long ago, several of us in our Troop took 1st Aid MB together. An area dentist was our Counselor. We did a "spiral" method of learning... learn a little, test a little, learn a little more ... until we finally got to the point of being evaluated. We met with him weekly after his business day for two months. We EARNED that MB :)

To teach the skills of First Aid so they aren't "learned and quickly lost", what do you think the 80% solution for training time is in the current world???

Wilderness First Aid classes are typically 16-24 hours. Those can be good classes, leastways for adults. I think folks still end up forgettin' a fair bit, even with the usual 3-year renewal requirements.

I know some crews that specialize in that area where the kids take Wilderness First Responder (usually an 80-hour course).
