I did the math with a scout earning Life and he has 5 months until turning 18. It was a little discouraging because he said he wanted to earn Eagle, but he really wasn't paying attention to deadlines -- especially because he counted on summer camp to earn badges that would have been better earned with a counselor. So, I encouraged him to stay positive and still lean in to scouting. I told him to think about the badges he'd wished he'd earned and go for it. Seems that BSA has tinkered with a few rank requirements and MBs for 2017. Nothing too big from what I see. http://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2017/03/14/heres-a-complete-list-of-the-2017-boy-scout-requirement-changes/

Looks like all of our Dens are going to be ready to receive their rank badges at the April pack meeting. Rather do a series of small ceremonies for the Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos 1s all in a row - I am trying to find a good idea for how to do one ceremony at the same time for all. I am picturing having everyone stand in a circle - with their parents behind them in another circle - or something like that. Anyone have an idea or something to share? Thanks,
