  1. Worth reading, there were more than a few substantive changes beyond the “happy to glad” of Boy Scouts to Scouts BSA... https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/33088.pdf
  2. The Alamo Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America will invite girls to join Cub Scouting from January to May 2018. This “soft launch” will be open to girls currently in kindergarten for Lions, and girls in the first through fourth grades in Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos I, a BSA spokeswoman said. Cub scout dens will be single-gender: all boys or all girls. The official launch will be at the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year. Webelos II girls will also have to wait until January 2019 when the older girl program is launched, the spokeswoman said. The older girls program

  4. Looks like all of our Dens are going to be ready to receive their rank badges at the April pack meeting. Rather do a series of small ceremonies for the Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos 1s all in a row - I am trying to find a good idea for how to do one ceremony at the same time for all. I am picturing having everyone stand in a circle - with their parents behind them in another circle - or something like that. Anyone have an idea or something to share? Thanks,
  5. The Mom of one of the Scouts in my son's Troop works at our Scout store. She had heard that they are changing the rules that BB Guns and Archery can only be done at council events (Day Camp or Resident Camp) and Districts can no longer do these at one of their events. This is partly due to eliminating the belt loop program. Has anyone else out there heard this? I usually read about these changes here but haven't seen any post about this
  6. National Council has made available as free downloads 2015-16 and 2016-17 Cub Scout Pack Meeting Plans... http://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2015/04/15/pack-meeting-plans-2015-2016-2016-2017-available-free-download/
  7. Is there any word as to when the e-training courses will be updated to reflect the new cub scout program? I am re-taking the Tiger Cub den-leader online course at scouting.org, and it has not been updated yet.
