    Sometimes it seems there's little one can do to avoid recognition. Exactly one year after ensuring my mom finally earned the District Award of Merit, it seems this month I am going to receive the same.  And I haven't done a fraction of the good she did during her 30+ years of Scouting - so much catching up to do! 😵

      TLS, I was in the same position relative to the person who also was awarded the Venturing Leadership Award. I told him mine was more valuable because I did only a fraction of the work!

    Congrats to my mother! After 33 years of Scouting service she's finally received the District Award of Merit for Saddleback District. Way to go Mom!

    My nephew completed his Eagle Scout service project today! Time for the write-up!

    Just attended the first Eagle CofH in the 24-year history of our local Spanish-speaking troop. The kid was one of my best den chiefs - I couldn't be happier!

    My doctors say I have made a complete recovery, and I have just been made a Unit Commissioner! Excited to start a new chapter in my Scouting career!

    I still have a solid 18 months to see what good I can accomplish in the Scouting world, so don't count me as gone yet! I intend to go out with a bang!
