  1. You misunderstood what TAHAWK wrote... a rose by any other name... was his point.
  2. Good grief. Her time would be better spent getting good grades and preparing for SAT/ACT, of course, some unstructured free time would be nice too.
  3. The SEARCH software is what it is. Finding contents by Topic and body is much less efficient than Find contents by Topic.
  4. Not to confused with the Campfire Stories topic which I create earlier.
  5. The problem is it makes SEARCH a bear down the road. If Topic A morphs into Topic Q, Q responses are harder to find.
  6. True enough. I know Trail Life has advancement transfer guidelines for those scouts coming from BSA. I have not found the same for BSA.
  7. Seeing some local news coverage today of the first day Jan 15 of the Early Adopter program .
  8. Are scouts experiencing the Patrol Method? The Patrol method once referred to a fixed membership group of scouts, now if seems more dynamic or ad hoc for each activity - lead those you got?
  9. I think a Girl Scout transferring in Boy Scouts would be stunned to be told she could not use power tools for her Eagle project that she had used for her Gold.
  10. Yes, the BSA allows double even triple dipping of requirement credit but only within one Scouting organization.
  11. We ran into this with a Civil Air Patrol transfer. With his Rank/Grade where should he start with advancement in BSA? What transfer credit should he given? He certainly had more wilderness survival training than most scouts.
  12. I think @ItsBrian was referring to link(s) in @Dixit topic from yesterday. Hope this helps.
  13. Maybe National expected "experienced scouts", certainly Eagle scouts, would return as Scouters and hence training would be a lesser priority?
  14. 70+ years after Hiroshima and Nagaski, the hibakusa will tell you they survived. We try to save as many as we can.
  15. I wonder if Hawaiian scouts will be distributing procedure updates to ballistic missile threats. “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” ...it was a false alarm which not everyone received. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/01/13/hawaii-residents-get-ballistic-missile-threat-messages/?utm_term=.6995d400f7fc
  16. I found this but I don't know which "webinar" it is. At the end, the presenter says to the audience "There is no special training. This is Cub Scout Leader Training."
  17. Good luck with your new challenge. Hope it is fun for all.
  18. This is surprising. I would not guess that the BSA is an international brand. How much BSA-branded product is sold outside of the US? $75million sales with say 2million customers seems small taters. Am I missing something?
  19. Stosh you like to be contrary so Syracuse may be your town, as I recall, the traffic lights are upside down. Green is on top, red on the bottom.
  20. Not me. Good eye. I wonder if the BSA License Lawyers will defend the brand and send notice. Should there be a recall?
