  1. Don't expect an update anytime soon. There's a "status Conference" Friday because sometimes there are agreements that need finalizing or language changed. But don't expect anything significant. Instead, it should take 2-3 weeks for the Judge to have a decision ready. She'll then give a day or two notice. Enjoy the quiet.....for now!

  3. When I did IOLS the instructor quickly realized my skill set and had me instruct my patrol. Interestingly it took quite a few years after for the course director to utilize me as a council and district trainer.

  4. Others may be able to help, you just have to mention it. I was at a week of summer camp when chatting with a random Scouter. I was wearing an old 1993 National Jamboree TShirt. My dad had passed away not too long before and I inherited 3 identical shirts that fit the adult me. I brought them to camp and wouldn't fear them getting wrecked while doing service projects. This Scouter said that he had lost his in a house fire 10 years prior and was very sad about it. It was awesome to head back to camp, grab a shirt, head back and help this Scouter replenish one item for him!

  5. I understand that Troops are allowed very little in 'selective membership'. Atheists are not allowed to join of course because the Policy is that the Scout must believe in a power higher than himself. Although they lie and get in anyway. Of course, if you are an atheist, you operate on different values anyway. A Scout with a history of being 'trouble'...is not automatically allowed to join either. Other than that, any selectivity in membership would be quite contrary to the policies of the Program.
