  1. Some of you may have heard the sound of a thunk this morning. It was probably the noise made by moderators as a couple of us worked diligently to ... moderate. All of the moderators attempt to watch the postings as often as we can to keep this forum functioning with appropriate and useful content. I am surprised how often I see a moderator checking the forum at 2am. Maybe it says something about our insomnia. Unfortunately, we are needing to delete or hide some of the posts. Bottom line they are just not Scout-like. We know that there is a lot of passion around some of the topics. An

  2. Wouldn't the liability concerns for any future charter though be the same as for any old charter? The UMC COs that are switching to facilities use around here are doing so because they don't trust the liability situation and coverage going forward with BSA. It's not just child abuse concerns either but what would happen if there was an injury claim or some other problem. The BSA has a lot of the traditional COs completely rattled and spooked and from where I sit it doesn't look like those reactions are without cause. An organization they trusted for decades and took at their word because of th

  3. The non-debtor releases are problematic as noted earlier. For it to work under the “best interests of the creditors test” the claimants with claims involving Council XYZ, the claimants would need an XYZ contribution at least as big as he would get in an XYZ Ch 11. Same with COs. The LC contributions don’t follow any logical pattern I can discern. These may need to be broken out claimant/council/assets with 265 or however many pools of claims and those claimants would be paid in part out of their local council asset pool. Not one big global pool because that could never garner enough votes. If

  4. Yep. BSA has always said as long as I can remember that they got your back. Now we are learning otherwise

  5. Good questions, probably a professional. Remember that Churches are only one type of organization that can sponsor a unit. VFW's, HOA's, non-profits, or even a business can sponsor a unit. The council would be my last choice because there would be the most amount of paperwork IMHO.

  7. Not sure of anything. But hard evidence has been in scant supply in this case about anything and I don’t see that changing. Without evidence our minds are left with intuition which I once heard was “intelligence in a hurry.”

  8. Once again BSA is stretching mediation privilege to the limit. Now it is Green, who again was NEVER a mediator or a mediation party, claiming mediation privilege as to why he won’t turn anything over “Mr. Green, for his part, has asserted mediation privilege to withhold hundreds of documents when he was never appointed mediator of anything. The Moving Insurers attempted to resolve the issues covered in the Motion to Compel with Mr. Green prior to filing. But Moving Insurers were communicating with counsel for Mr. Green until September 16, 2021 when Mr. Green’s counsel only then confirmed

  9. Another: they are demanding disclosure from BSA about why the coalition plan to get paid which the judge previously rejected in the RSA is being put back in as a plan 5.0 again they want the judge to order disclosure over the weekend https://casedocs.omniagentsolutions.com/cmsvol2/pub_47373/358b9ecb-570b-495c-920e-cdd2caca3339_6284.pdf

The key staff members will, in turn, train and supervise other staff personnel in your council camping program. Training is offered for staff members who will serve as Short-Term Camp Administrators, Day Camp Administrators, Long-term (Resident) Camp Directors, Long-term (Resident) Program Directors, Aquatics Directors, Climbing Directors, Project COPE Directors, COPE and Climbing Program Trainers, Ecology Directors, Outdoor Skills Directors,

  11. Your posts are so well written, it puts the rest of us to shame. Since a scout is kind, It would appear that the moderators have graciously consented to remove some of your better written posts in order to save the rest of us from the pain and humiliation that any comparisons of your posts with the posts of other members of the forum would surely cause. On behalf of myself and other members of the forum, we hope you understand.

  12. Yes. It is their suggestion. I say, “Balderdash!” Their actions, may not only have been fraudulent and unethical, but in direct contravention of the judge’s stern admonition. “I better not see attorneys signing 100’s of POCs!” Get a bloody pen and sit down for an extended period of writer’s cramp. And, who gave the aggregators those scripts and questionnaires? Are we to assume the law firms had zero input into how this was managed? Did they know about the bonus structure? Did Mr. AVA do this stuff for the majority of his career? Meh. Exactly my point. (Omitting references to my favorit

  13. Stenulson's declaration. This is going to be devastating. Details about the claims were made up: "Sometimes we were told to change the details of a caller's story in order to make their claims see more viable, but I was not comfortable with that directive." Blank claims had the signatures of claimants forged. Specifically, the signature that the claimant used ON THEIR CONTRACT WITH AIS OR OTHER LAWFIRMS were then cut-and-pasted onto the Proof of Claim. Claimants who had changed their minds were told their claims would be removed. They weren't. Duplicate claims were fil

  14. Yes, as soon as it was available. I posted somewhere earlier that before we condemn the D, E, & I training or the MB (whatever it ends up being called) we should spend a few minutes to do the training. I saw absolutely nothing in that presentation that I found objectionable.

  15. @HelpfulTracks has it right. The advancement requirement is for the individual. Though I could see it as a sign of achievement, having it as an explicit requirement seems wrong. The requirement seems ambiguous if you are looking to weigh a result. The GTA is taking it more like a process; a conversation. If the SM does not think the scout is doing enough, the SM should talk to the scout. Have a conversation. That's what the GTA is saying. The GTA is also saying it's wrong to arbitrarily say now after-the-fact. The unit needs to have clear expectations before the scout star

  16. I am going to take a different view and look as 2022 as an opportunity. Sort of like the forest fire that, while doing a great deal of damage, burns out the dead wood and undergrowth to lead the regrowth of a healthier forest. We will certainly have a leaner National organization, and almost certainly leaner local organizations. The role of the volunteer will become even more important. One can hope that those who remember what the patrol method is, what Aims and Methods are about can help rebuild a healthier, albeit smaller organization that lives by the Oath and Law on a daily basis. 17. On a more serious note, some white supremist groups have been appropriating Nordic symbols as their own. There are some Nordic heritage groups that are rightfully outraged that these racist are using symbols of their culture for more than 1000 years as part of war of hate. Unfortunately, in todays culture, for some, the only meaning is the one they see today and the history means nothing. So, short answer, you really need to have a discussion with your leaders about the specific symbols you are using and what, if any, modern day message they may send.

  18. The Spanish (so called) flu spent most of 1918 and 1919 to disappear, without vaccines, with very little medical science prevention or correction. We finally got "herd immunity". Only took about 50 or 60 million premature deaths world wide.... https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/influenza/

  19. I assume you are referring to the comments that some G-Troops operate as patrols in Boy Troops. In the cases I've heard of this happening, the G-Troop is chartered, they just operate as if they are not. That's not how I plan on running things.
