And BSA has protected its brand so aggressively that mentions of anything with our organization's trademarks are extremely rare. The uniform is scrubbed from the bulk of political rallies. Get serious. Here's an interview with one of the founders of BLM. At the 6 minute mark she talks about being a "trained Marxist." The Postmodern progressive movement isn't interested in a diverse group of people singing scout vespers around the campfire.

Yes, I've seen some of those posts. I was hoping that, by posing the topic again, I would be able to to connect with the people involved in the previous conversations (like the ones you've kindly mentioned). I missed that "nuclear family" bit. To my mind, that seems like the kind of line that gets thrown in because it sounds impressive, but isn't really descriptive of what someone is working for. Kind of like how "Defund the police" actually means, "develop community response methods that don't require an armed officer whenever possible".

I dunno. I've reviewed their web page and I don't see anything on there my priest would object to. I think the problem is simply that BLM's structure is just so fractured that they can't keep the people speaking out using their name on message. That and the people getting interviewed sometimes get wrapped up in their emotions and start spouting their personal opinions instead of the organization's positions.

Yes, but who heard of Scoutmaster back in 1910? Just because she hadn't heard of the term doesn't mean the culture is all weird about it. I couldn't disagree with you more. Boys get enough of this stuff at school. Boys are told to be docile. Girls are encouraged to be assertive and empowered. It's enough to make a person sick. Scouting should be an opportunity for boys to break away from these feminizing influences. Go on an adventure. Have a blast. Lean your head back and howl at the moon.

When people use the phrase, "by any means necessary", you can probably anticipate a totally unnecessary, under-disciplined, over-the-top response. I prefer the best reasoned, most responsible, and least restrictive response possible under the circumstances. Blunt force is usually not the best answer.

Anyone remember the ' shrieking girl " at Yale? Or the madness at Evergreen Collage? Or the riots at Berkley? We older folks just shook our heads and said " Just wait until they graduate and move into the real world, they're in for a real shock. Then they'll grow up." Hi everyone, it's me, again, a moderator. It seems that the temperature on social media has gone up in the past week. I've seen some really ugly things posted on facebook recently by scouters I know. Bad enough that I'm wondering why I should even be in scouting anymore, much less trying to keep the peace on this forum.
