    • When I was a boy scout some of the scouts snuck in booze. It wasn't pretty. You have to remember that the leaders are fully responsible for the safety of all children and also liable. If someone cooks in a tent and sets a fire ablaze - leaders are ultimately liable. Everything might lead to a court case and in that situation then heck yes, they can search bags and tents. Otherwise, if the leaders have nothing but legal exposure, no leaders. School is the same way.
    • Depends on the Council, but they usually keep the old records. I've never heard a council removing any records. But, up until around 2000 when the councils started converting to digital, the records were all hand written. So, the accuracy of the records, at least until around 2000, is a different discussion. I know that our Council put a lot of effort into converting the hand written records into digital. We found that up until 2000, every scout submitting paperwork for EBOR had a least one major advancement error by Council, usually several. Surprisingly few errors, if any, by Council after 2000. If your friend did an EBOR, then his records are very likely at council as well as national.  Barry
    • Saw on the news this last week that a mountain lion was seen (photographed even) in far eastern Oklahoma. News says that its been a few years since one was confirmed, but they are starting to come back into the state there. Same way with bears. Reports are starting to pop up now and then about their reappearance. Either they are repopulating or they are being squeezed into view as humans push further into their areas.
    • Eagle scout records are kept  by National.  They would be able to find out.
    • All we need now is a rubber chicken. Or does the dining hall already have that in abundant supply?
