Merry Christmast ACLU

IMPORTANT!!!- Christmas Cards!!! - Spread the word

I got this from a friend via email and couldn't pass it up, so pass it along!

------------

What a GREAT idea!

Fun with the ACLU......

Wanna have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world.

Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it

Here's the Address, just don't be rude or crude. (It's Not the Christian Way, you know!)

ACLU

125 Broad Street

18th Floor New York, NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a "Holiday Tree".

. . . It's a Christmas Tree even in the fields!!

And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!!

Actually, I thought it was a pine tree. Except when it's a Yule tree.

If I had your address, I'd be sure to send you a "Season's Greetings" card.

How obnoxious.

You know, Cary, I almost edited my post after I wrote it to say, "on second thought, I won't send you a card because I don't believe in using the good will of the season as a club to bludgeon those who disagree with my religious beliefs".

Do you really think it is respectful to anyone (including your God) to use the celebration of the birth of your savior as a political tool to harass those don't share your religious beliefs?

Excellent question! It wouldn't be harassment. It would be wishing the ACLU a blessed Christmas. I plan on sending a card!

I think I will send them 2 - a Merry Christmas card with a Boy Scout car decal included, and a Happy Festivus card (with a picture of a Festivus pole on the front). I'll include my Airing of Grievances as well. The sad thing is they probably really do celebrate Festivus.

Brent,

After the Airing of Grievances, can we do the "feats of strength"?

After a while, aI got to think about the Holiday Tree. I think this year I'll mine up. After Christmas, i'll take off all the ornaments and put on pictures of civil rights leaders and activists with Rosa Parks or MLK at the top. Then at the end of January, I'll take them down and get ready Presidents Day with pictures of the presidents with Washinton at the top with a quick shuffle for Valentines's Day and put hearts and cupids and ribbons with "Be Mine?" all over. March is St. Patrick's Day, so you know what's coming here, but a leprechaun at the top this time.

There will be a little gap in April, except I'll put pictures of me, because I was born in April, so it's my tree and that's that.

May gets to honor our fallen war heroes. Either patton or Audy Murphy at the top this time.

Another break in June, July of course will be Red, White and Blue!!!

And so it will go for the coming year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Festivus!

My thoughts exactly Ed!

Dan, This is the issues and politics section.

My feelings about the ACLU are political and I have issues with them. Any organization that attempts to keep me from wishing people Merry Christmas I have a problem with that. Also God has a sense of humor.

The ACLU has no problem with people (acting as private citizens) wishing other people "Merry Christmas", and would defend your first amendment right to say it.

The problems come in when government officials in their official capacity try to promote their religious views.

For those that have issues with the ACLU. Do you disagree with them all the time, like when they protect the rights of Christians to practice their faith? Or do you believe they should pick and choose their battles and only protect the constitutional rights of those you happen to agree with?
