Adults wearing NYLT Patches

Recommended Posts

I'm sewing on patches for our Jambo contingent. One ASM who just taught NYLT and has a knot for that on his shirts, wants to put the rectangler patch that the youth get for their Left pocket on His (ASM's) pocket. I'm not sure that adults can wear that youth patch. Insigna Guide gives no location or description as to exactlly who can wear it & where it should go.

As a former Trading Post Manager I want to do this right, but it's His shirt & I'm just the seamstress now.

Feedback and Answers from this forum would be very welcome, soon!!!

... a non regulation knot, and a patch not in the guide? I'd call and mention that you were looking in the guide for proper patch placement and didn't see anything about those, that you wanted to double check before sewing, then let him deal with the consequences as you've done your job as the customer service person!

No knot for NYLT, but adults can earn their third and fourth WB beads meeting criteria.

NYLT emblem, like the JLT and BA22 emblems before it are considered temporary insignia, and are worn on the right pocket. If memory serves, adults who work staff can wear the emblem. I know I have one form when I was adult staff on JLT. I would send this link to him to verify that he really wants you to wear it in the wrong place?

Thanks for the imput---It was the Scouter Training Knot (green/green) on tan. My mistake in typing--he wants it under his lodge flap on the right side.

I'll put it there and move on to the 17-20 shirts that are in the sewing lineup. Having worked in '05 @Trading post B I'm kinda sad my health is preventing a return trip. In honor of my diagonis of cancer in the lung, I challenged the "Yoda" unit to pray for me at whatever church service they attend at '10Jambo and to get the duty to God segment. My chemo/radiation will start just before they leave California. Thanks again for the help!
