SCOUTER.com is excited to finally announce free web hosting for your troop, pack, team or post. The SCOUTER.com servers have been a mainstay of the Internet Scouting world since November of 1995 (the dark ages!), and we are happy to announce a new, totally free web hosting program for your unit.

Do we qualify for free web space on the SCOUTER servers?
If you are a Scout unit (like a troop, post, lodge, pack, team, etc) then you automatically qualify for free space, to be used for your units web site. We monitor the content of your web site, and request that you only use this free space for the intended purpose.
How much space do we get?
Your web space is limited to 2 megs, which is more than enough for a web site with several pages. Additional space can be provided in certain circumstances, but we request that you respect the FREE space for what it is.
What about special scripts for guest books, counters and stuff?
We will be adding several of the most common scripts to the common executable bin and will provide you with instructions on how to add them to your site.
Will I ever lose this space?
SCOUTER.com has been online consistently since November, 1995. We waited to make sure that we were able to provide a robust hosting solution for Scout units, and are committed to continuing to offer this free space indefinitely.
Do I have to worry about inappropriate banner ads being displayed to visitors of my site?
That's one of the biggest complaints about sites like Geocities and other large commercial hosting sites. While we do display a banner ad in a separate pop-up window, you can be assured it is only for things that are of interest and appropriate to Scouting.
Any Technical Requirements?
To create a web site at SCOUTER, you must use Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. You will not be able to use the the web based tool for managing your site with Netscape or older browsers.
