        This was a situation - I wish it were a trivia question!
        I know a scout who is of age to be in Venturing and would like to work toward the Ranger award, however, there are no crews within a reasonable distance for him to participate fully in the program.

          It is possible to be a venturer at some distance from your crew, but that usually is based on an established relationship,

          I would suggest you put the lad in touch with his council venturing committee. Maybe someone in the area is thinking of starting a crew, or maybe there's a crew putting together an adventure and they need one more person to make it work,
