2 liter pop bottle rocket

Does anyone have the instructions for construction of the 2 liter soda pop bottle rocket and what we would need to launch them. We made them several years ago but have since changed leaders and we would like to do them again.

I built one similar to this one. My original had a sophisticated trigger system, but I found that just holding it (like this one recommends) was easier and more effective.

For rockets, simply make a nose cone out of foam and make fins out of cardboard or foamboard.

We made the rockets out of 2-2 liter soda bottles. I would like to do that again but dont remember how we did it. Does anyone have the instructions for that?

I don't see that you need formal instructions. Use your imagination, or better yet, let the boys use theirs.

 

A rocket can be as simple as drawing a picture of one on a sheet of paper, or as complicated as a circle of cardboard for the nose, cardboard fins, and paper around the middle decorated as a NASA rocket.

 

Give the boys paper, cardboard, markers, scissors, and glue and let them go. If you want you can pre-cut some circles and fin shapes. Or, you can have 1, or 2, templates for them to trace.
