Scouters With 16+ Years Experience
I recieved a phone call one afternoon from my education professor.
He had agreed to take the job of SM for the local Troop, and had no Scouting experience.
He went to the student files and found that I was an Eagle Scout. He asked me to be an
ASM. I have been involved since then. -Steven Lenig - 20 yr., Eagle Scout
I have been associated with the same Troop since I was a boy. When I turned 18, I went
through the SM Training and have been there ever since. -25 yr. Leader
I was asked by fellow teacher to assist with an Explorer Post. Then I was volunteered
by my wife to be a CM. -David "Doc" Buerger - 35 yr.
My younger bother-in-law was involved and his unit needed Leaders. Also, I wanted to
give back to a program that I enjoyed as a youth. And I loved working with youth and
seeing them grow in character. -Sonny Moak , 20+ yr.
I first got involved through my church. -Thomas Foster - 20 yr., Eagle Scout
My NCOIC in the Marine Corps found out that I was an Eagle. He was the SM and convinced
me to register. -Pete Thornton, 39 yr., Eagle Scout
The day I turned 18 I went down to the Scout Office and
updated by membership status from Youth to ASM. When I turned 21 I was SM within a month
of my birthday. -Ed Henderson, SCOUTER Staff, 17 yrs, Eagle Scout
I stayed on as an ASM after graduating from high school and kept in contact with the
Troop when I was home from college. -J.P. - 16 yr., Eagle Scout
After I turned 18, I became an adult Leader and have been ever since. -G. Warde -

I said to the SM I heard there was a Scout Troop at this church. He bellows in a nice
but assertive way "7:30 Tuesday. Be there!" A year later I was SM and he retired
after 26 years. -Ed Scheffner - 18 yr.
I've been continuously registered since I was a Cub. -J. P. English - 19 yr.
I turned 18 and became an ASM in my Troop. -Roy Hanks - 20 yr.
I never left from being a Boy Scout -Michael Brumble - 25 yr., Eagle Scout
I enjoy passing on to the youth of today the things that I learned as a young Scout. I
believe this is the only cost to being a Scout or Scouter is passing it on to the boys. -Earl
