    SCOUTER Salutes Our Scout Dads

    Especially all those men and women who heard these words spoken in their leader induction ceremonies and still volunteered: "I wish you satisfaction in seeing Scouts develop and achieve, for it will be your only compensation received."

    For Scout Dads: - those who volunteer to drive, send snacks for the meeting, make phone calls, counsel merit salute.gif (8222 bytes)badges, - those who sit on Boards of Review, on Troop Committees and Pack Committees, - those who buy supplies, type newsletters, make posters, go camping, volunteer for day camp, for summer camp, for campouts, - those who are Tiger Cub Coordinators, Blue and Gold Banquet Chairs, Pinewood Derby officials, - those who judge Mother/Son Cake-bakes, Turtle Races, Raingutter Regattas, - those who decorate, and clean up, and plan scouting events, - those who run Scout shows, and Scout-a-ramas, and Camporees, - those who make quick suppers on Pack meeting night, and hearty breakfasts on Saturday Camp Clean-up days, - those who serve as Cubmasters and Scoutmasters and Den Leaders and Troop Leaders, - those who make time just to "be there" and offer encouragement, support and help, -those grandfathers, grandmothers, single moms, aunts, uncles, older brothers/sisters, friends, who become an enthusiastic "stand-in dad" for those Scouts without a father.

    Happy Father's Day from all of us at SCOUTER!

    A Scoutmaster's Prayer
    The Scoutmaster's Secretary

    " To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
    to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of a false friend; to appreciate beauty;
    to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch,
    or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
    This is to have succeeded."

    -Ralph Waldo Emerson
