Scouts on Tour - Historic Naval Ships
The USSSP has this site detailing locations for what has become a major attraction for many scout troops. Around the USA there are nearly a dozen floating naval museum ships that offer camping to scout troops. See ads in SCOUTER & Scouting Magazines.
Historic Naval Ships Visitors' Guide
This web site has all of the naval ships that are available for public tours. Only some have overnight camping programs but all will make interesting trips for scout groups.
Alabama - Official Site
This is the home page for the U.S.S. Alabama in Mobile. This World War II era Battleship offers scouts the chance to stay overnight and explore the ship as well as a naval museum, submarine, and other ships.

Constellation - Baltimore, MD
U.S.S. Constellation was launched at the Gosport Navy Yard in Norfolk, Virginia in 1854. It already has many day programs for scouts as the last surviving ship of the Civil War. While not having overnight camping, it does make for a great day visit.
Constitution - Boston Massachusetts
The U.S.S. Constitution is the oldest still on active duty vessel in the United States Navy. First launched by Capt. Capt. James Sever in 1791 it offers free public tours. There is no provision for overnight camping on this ship.
Kidd - Louisiana Naval War Memorial
This is the to the official web-rest of the Fletcher-class destroyer USS KIDD (DD-661). Click on the "School, Group Tours & Overnight Camping" link to get information on overnight scout visits to this museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Lexington - Official Museum Site
The U.S.S. Lexington offers scouts the chance to stay on board. Permanently anchored at Corpus Christi Texas the "Lady Lex - Museum on the Bay" attracts thousands of Cub Pack & Scout Troops each year.

This Essex Aircraft Carrier located in Corpus Christi has become a major attraction for scout groups. With overnight stays, the Lexington makes a great add on for scouts going to the Laguna Station BSA Aquatics Base on South Padre Island.

For their 1999 Winter trip, this Circle Ten Council troop from Richardson Texas visited the World War II era Lexington Air Craft Carrier as a part of their winter extended trip.
Little Rock - Official Site
The Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park opened to the public on 30 June 1979. It is the largest inland naval park of its kind in the United States. It is also home to guided missile cruiser USS Little Rock (CLG-4) & two other vessels.
Massachusetts - Battleship Cove Park
Battleship Cove, home of the USS Massachusetts and her sister ships, has overnight camping for scouts. Located in Fall River MA, the Massachusetts itself is closed for repairs but scouts can camp on board her sister ship, Destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy.
Nautilus - Submarine Force Museum
The Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Connecticut, home of Historic Ship NAUTILUS (SSN 571), is the United States Navy's official submarine museum.
North Carolina - Battleship
The Battleship NORTH CAROLINA is open every day of the year in Wilmington, NC.
Pampanito - San Francisco Bay
Cubs On Subs - An Adventure Overnighter! This delightful account of a Pack visit to this Naval Museum in San Francisco easily conveys how much fun these kinds of trips are for any scout group.

Cub Scouts tour the USS Carl Vincent
Sometimes scouts can visit an active duty naval vessel. Cub Scout Pack 504 traveled to the Alameda Naval base on November 5, 1995. There, they toured the USS Carl Vicent, an aircraft carrier stationed at Alameda.
