The Single Largest "Tourist Attraction" For Scouting
Rarely has a single state yielded so many heavy hitters in terms of summer camp excellence. Across the Commonwealth of Virginia there are truly some incredible Boy Scout Camps.

BRMC - Blue Ridge Scout Reservations
At a huge 17,500 acres this the largest scout camp in the country. What really makes it outstanding however are the truly innovative programs that take place on it year round. The camps include: High Knoll Trail Camp, Ottari, Powhatan, & Claytor Lakes.
BRMC - Camp Ottari
Powhatan and Ottari. Both offer a full range of merit badges and programs for the younger Scouts. Ottari has more mountainous terrain and its larger lake offers small boat sailing and fishing for bass and bluegill. Both camps are on the same reservation.

Powhatan and Ottari. Both offer a full range of merit badges and programs for the younger Scouts. Powhatan is a more level terrain camp with a campsite for handicapped campers. Its lake is stocked with trout. Located on the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation.
BRMC - Claytor Lake Aquatics Base
Claytor Lake Aquatics Base offers a weeklong advanced aquatics program for older Scouts. The Base is on beautiful Claytor Lake, a 4,500 acre highlands reservoir which is 5 miles from our Scout Reservation. The lake is an impoundment of the New River.
BRMC - High Knoll Trail Camp
If rugged outdoor adventure appeals to your Scouts and they want to make the most of their camping skills, the High Knoll Trail Camp offers a real opportunity. The 17,500 acre camp has over 100 miles of trails.
BUCKSKIN CO (WV) - Camp Roland
Buckskin Council's premier High Adventure Camp - Appalachian Wilderness Adventure is at Camp Roland in Bastian VA.
CVC - Bayport Scout Reservation
Along the Rappahannock River, secluded from all of the hustle and bustle of life, you will find Bayport Scout Reservation’s Boy Scout Camp. This is a new camp for the council, opening for the first time in 2007.
CVC - C.H.A.S.E Chesapeake Bay Sail Exp.
SAIL Chart your own course. Determine your destination. And set sail with other experienced sailors on the mighty Chesapeake Bay for a week like no other in the CHASE Outpost Sail. Also Sea Kayak, Water Ski, & Canoe. Near Kilmarnock in Palmer VA.
HEART OF VA - Albright Scout Reservation
This is a short term campmon Lake Chesdin. INcludes Camp Finley & the Gladbrook Farm Ecology Center and also the Phillips Wilderness Camping Area.
HEART OF VA - Camp Brady Saunders
Camp T. Brady Saunders has many exceptional programs and one of the most comprehensive leader's guides in the nation. Camp Savvy is the program for first year scouts. There are also many older scout programs.
HEART OF VA - Camp Douglas Fleet
Camp Fleet is the Scout Reservation's short- term, off- season camping area. This camp features four large camping areas, each large enough to support several units. Each area has its own latrine and frost- free water hydrant for year- round use.
HEART OF VA - Camp Eagle Point
Camp Eagle Point is located on Kerr Reservoir in Mecklenburg County, Virginia The property is leased from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. The council property encompasses the finger-shaped points that jut out into the Kerr Res. between the water tower
HEART OF VA - Henricus Historical Park
Under a new agreement between the Chesterfield County Dept. of Parks & Recreation & Robert E. Lee Council, , Scout Troops are now allowed to primitve camp at a designated location at the Dutch Gap Conservation Area/Henricus Historical Park.
NCAC (MD) - Camp William B. Snyder
The 350-acre Camp William B. Snyder, located in Haymarket, Virginia is the latest and greatest camping experience offered by the National Capital Area Council. Camp Snyder serves as a multi-functional camp that can meet the needs of all units.
NCAC (MD) - Goshen Scout Reservation
Located on 4,000+ acres in the mountains of SW Virginia, there are 6 separate camps on the shores of a 450-acre lake: Camp Olmsted, Camp Bowman & Camp Marriott as well as Camp P.M.I., Post, Ross & Lenhok'sin High Adventure at Camp Baird.
NCAC (MD) - Lenhok'sin High Adv. Base
The mission of Lenhok'sin High Adventure is to offer older Scouts, Venturers and Explorers and their adult leaders general high adventure opportunities where they may enjoy themselves. This includes activities where they may test & expand outdoor skills.
SHENANDOAH AREA CO - Camp Rock Enon
Camp Rock Enon is located on 860 acres of rugged beauty in the mountains of Gore, Virginia. It is the site of the Shenandoah Area Council's year around caming programs. Rock Climbing, Rapelling, Waterfront, Mountain Trails, and much more.
STONEWALL JACKSON AREA - Camp Shenandoah
Stonewall Jackson Area Council established Camp Shenandoah in the summer of 1950 on 300 wooded acres on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Staunton. The camp is located 1,200 feet above sea level near Little North Mountain.
TIDEWATER - Camp Moonyah
Primitive Camping area of 37 acres on the southside of the Gilmerton Deep Canal Creek.
TIDEWATER CO - Camp Baker
Camp Baker is 375 acres leased from the Army Corps of Engineers. This is a short term council property - A PDF brocure is linked to this site.
TIDEWATER CO - Pipsico Scout Reservation
Pipsico Scout Reservation is located in Surry County, Virginia. It encompasses more than 900 acres of woodland, open fields and marshes. Tidewater Council purchased this land in 1958 & includes Camp Lions.
Private - Camp Harmony For Boy Scouts
A 1-night, 2-day weekend course designed for Scouts, Venturing Crews, and their Leaders to create a sense of awareness and preparedness when in a wilderness environment. Offered by the Mountain Shepherd Wilderness Survival School.
SOLD - Camp Chickahominy
Colonial Virginia Council's camp was sold in October 2004 - Camp Chickahominy has been sold to U.S. Homes Corporation for $5,375,000. These proceeds will be used in the purchase and development of our new camp in Middlesex County.
