This PDF from the Boosier District of the Norwela Council is an 88 page guide of camps for scout troops. It is a hige download but had maps, directions, and some photos of these camps.
CALCASIEU AREA CO - Camp Edgewood
Camp has Long-term & Short-term, weekend camping on 300 acres. The council has no web presence, information is to BSAcamps.org website. Camp is in DeQuincey LA.

EVANGELINE AREA - Camp Brownell
Camp Brownell is 4.25 acres of Council property located North of Stevensville, LA on Bayou Long in lower St. Martin Parish. At this time Camp Brownell is a primitive camping area. Facilities inc. fresh running water, a 24' x 28' pavilion, 3 camp sites.
EVANGELINE AREA - Camp Steen
Five acres located right on the Vermilion River. Steen offers camping, picnicking, convenience to Abbeville for those forgotten items. The pavilion offers fans, tables, stoves, water, restrooms. Steen is likely the most utilized camp in the council.
EVANGELINE AREA - Camp Thistlethwaite
As the original Summer Camp, Camp T provided a great setting for thousands of Scouts until Mt. Bayou was found. The dinning hall and pool are long gone, but the 50+ acres are still some fine camping.
EVANGELINE AREA - Lawson-Chappuis Camp
Located in Crowley LA, this is a primitive weekend camp. it consists of 40 acres of wooded bottom land with many palmetto plants. This property lends itself to primitive camping as the only structure on the property is a covered pavilion.
EVANGELINE AREA - Mt. Bayou Lake Camp
There just couldn't be any place nicer camp than Mt. Bayou. Regardless of the time of the year, the forest is a woodsman’s dream. The pine trees seem to get all the press when it comes time to cut timber. This is the main camp for this council.
ISTROMA AREA - Carruth Scout Preserve
Primitive weekend camp facility. Site links to a PDF with basic information on the property.
ISTROMA AREA -Avondale Scout Reservation
Avondale Scout Reservation is located on LA Highway 10, three miles East of Clinton, Louisiana in beautiful East Feliciana Parish. The Reservation has over 1,665 acres of evergreen and hardwood forest, fields, lakes and abundant wildlife.
LA PURCHASE - Camp Attakapas
This camp near Jena LA has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades. The camp consists of 33.3 acres and has a 15 acre lake available for boating activities and fishing. Searcy Lake has a dock and is ideal for aquatics activities.
LA PURCHASE - Camp T. L. James
Camp T.L. James has an excellent program of Aquatics available for the camper. A certified staff is assigned to the Aquatics Area to provide expert instruction in Swimming, Lifesaving, Canoeing , Sail boating, and Rowing. Winter Camp also available.
LA PURCHASE - Treehouse Village Camp
Okay, here is a camp with an entirely different theme! Like the Ewoks, this one is in the trees! Set up as a Cub Camp, the site is also available for Troop use. An effort of the TreeHouse Workshop & the Louisiana Purchase Council.
NORWELA COUNCIL - Garland Scout Ranch
Garland Scout Ranch is a beautiful 1600-acre facility located just six miles south of Stonewall, Louisiana on U.S. Highway 171. The rolling pine forests, wide-open fields, and the cool clear lakes are ideal for adventurous Scout camping.
