Keith,
You hit the nail on the head this time. With all the canoes on the market
that match, or surpass, a Grumman aluminum canoe in weight (-saving) and
capacity, I take it that not one suitable alternative is offered at Sommers.
That's to to the detriment of the experience.
But I will agree with you that inexperienced paddlers on a lake are better
off with a keeled flat-bottom design; I guess I just prefer plastic.
