Quality Unit and Community Service Hours

Spoke with our Lodge Chief yesterday and looked over the materials
he brought back from the National Leadership Summit in Colorado.
Apparently, there will be a place on the QU form to record the
number of hours and number of Scouts who performed community service
during the charter year. This is a part of the Service to America
campaign and apparently will be used to help record the hours given
in meeting the national goal.
Also, the total hours of service in 1997 and 1998 have topped
100 million, so the goal of 200 million by the end of 2000 looks
very reachable.
