I am sorry to hear about your situation...
I AGREE that cars do not need to be driven to your campsite.

But, there is a place for both zero impact and trailer camping.

Not that long ago, I remember a camporee where the clouds
opened up and several hundred tents were dammaged. The
only Troops that did not pack up and go home were three units
that had spare tents, dry sleeping bags and an emergency
supply of dry wood stored in their trailer.

Our unit is a firm beliver in zero impact camping for high
adventure and older boy programs. But when camping with
new Scouts, ALL the gear comes along! Our newest campers
got an excelent lesson in the motto: "Be Prepared".

After getting everything back to normal they thought "staying"
(after everyone else bailed out) was the neatest part of the
entire weekend!!!
