This "awe" for nature is what Scouting has to offer that is not
available anywhere else to kids. But I'm afraid it is labled as
"nature loving" by some consevatives, and is why the outdoor program has
gone downhill steadily since about 1972.
It is no accident that the "new" program does'nt include this critical
part of Scouting, and as I learned as a DE for 13 years, is being phased
out...if we don't act now!
