You are right on target here, this thread has drifted away from the
original question of "how to get kids interested?"
For about 15 years, I have been showing slides of our high
adventure trips at our annual recruiting drives. Years later,
I found out from the kids that the SLIDES are why they
joined. Nothing that was said, or flyers handed out, or patches
shown or free baseball games, or displays sucked them in.
It was the SLIDE presentations!!!
(Wow that was the easy part!!!) :-)
