An important caveat here is that the video cassettes here in the USA are
formatted to work with VHS players that use the NTSC format, whereas most
of Europe (France uses SECAM format) uses the PAL format. Thus, one would
need to:

1) Obtain the video in PAL format from the BSA (unlikely), or
2) Cross-record the video to PAL format, or
3) Borrow an NTSC-capable television and VHS player from somebody

Whilst I was stationed in Europe with the U.S. Navy in the 1982-1985
timeframe, I bought a Panasonic television that could receive and
display 4 different formats (Japanese NTSC being the fourth). There
were multistandard VHS players available, but they were quite expensive.
