Australia Day

For the information of my international friends on this list, this Sunday
(January 26) is Australia Day. This day comemmorates the date in 1788 when
the "First Fleet" of settlers (a large proportion of whom were unwilling...
<G>) arrived from England at Botany Bay (Where the city of Sydney is now)
To recognise the day, my mother asked me to put together an activity about
the Australian Flag for the children at church. What I have done is a
two-page activity sheet; the first page has a small colouring-in activity of
the flag, with information about the components and significatnce of the
symbols on the flag (this is aimed at older children) and the second page is
simply a colouring-in exercise with an outline of the flag. I thought this
activity-sheet may be of broader interest to list members; either to learn a
little about Australia or for Australians to use in cub or scout activities.
Anyone who is interested just email me and I can send a copy; it's a Word 6
file that is zipped to about 32kb.
