When something like this happens in front of kids, we just say "We have to
follow the rules and if you don't like the rules, then you may work to
change them" Certainly if it is a safety issue, I always say it's a
safety rule and they are always followed. And then there is always, "When
in Girl Scouts we do things the Girl Scout way". My leader and I are
taking Outdoor Training to learn the *CURRENT* GS way, not the way it was
10 or 20 years ago or even the way it was in the Council I grew up in.
Perhaps she could take some training??? She might learn the REASONS
behind the rules.
