car weight?

It's been some 19 yrs since I helped build a derby car. How much does the
car,wheels, nails weigh as delivered? Why not just lower the allowable
weight to a smidgeon below this to allow for some sanding of the car and
eliminate the need to bring the car up to 5oz?
(re: bullets- I'm not so sure that that is a good idea. It's like having
unexploded airbags (containing sodium azide) in junkyards. Would these
bullets explode if thrown in a campfire or hit with a hammer? Some scouts
are known to do some foolish things.)
