Hello Fellow Scouters:

It should be known by most scouters that Scouting is not an exact
science. Many times
some fantastic adult leaders leave scouting due to some who are so very
LEGALISTIC about everything, and feel they must be a policeman. Huge
battles are often waged over miniscule matters. (Don't get me
wrong....I spent 21 years in the military, and I understand SOP, rules,
and regulations.)

My son and another boy in our Webelo patrol (5th grade) earned the God &
Country Award
this past summer. The associate pastorwho was their instructor told them
they could have their medals awarded anywhere they chose. They chose the
Pack meeting because that is where all of their Scouting friends are.
So, this gave them great recognition in front of their peers, and was a
great way to inform the other scouts (cubs) about this award.

BTW......when and where can they wear this award??? Anytime/anywhere
they want to!
I think some of us just need to lighten up a little.
