Actually, you don't. You watch them stop in the middle of the street
and build snowmen, because the last time it snowed in Phoenix, my 15
year old daughter was 3! It regularly snows within miles of Phx, but
not usually here. It did _try_ to snow last year, but that funny looking
rain didn't stick.
On Wood Badge:
I was privileged to be able to take a Covey "7 Habits" session several
years ago. Later, when I took Wood Badge, I saw many of the same concepts.
Later still, I read Hyrum Smith's "10 Natural Laws of Time and Life
Management", and saw them again. I have come to the conclusion that
the Wood Badge experience is not unique to Wood Badge. Just _very_ similar
to a management relations class.
One other thing: One of my patrol members was telling us a few months ago
about a management seminar that he was involved in, where his group kept
getting bogged down. He was able to get them going again, time after time,
and finally they solved the problem. Afterward, the fellow who led the
seminar approached him and mentioned watching while he untangled things.
He also said it was no accident, or lucky break, because it was consistent.
Then, the fellow asked his secret.
This man was astonished to find out that it was Boy Scout training,
leadership, and Wood Badge training that my friend credited for his
leadership skills.
