ONE SUCCESS STORY!

Hey all, I am real excited tonight, I just started a new troop in our
Urban Division. It is in one of our very low income, high crime,
neighborhoods. The kids were all so neat. I know it will be a good
group to work with. You know how you can feel it, when it's going to
be good! I had one boy show up last week and told him he had to come
back with 2 friends, he came back with 4! And they all said they
would bring another next week. They are real anxious to get
started. They were so proud of their uniforms!

I started a pack in the same neighborhood just before the holidays,
the first night no one showed, second night two, I told them they had
to both bring a friend, they did and then those two did and so on and
now we have 13!

It's funny, this is the neighborhood everyone warned me about. Turns
out to be one of the best bunches of kids! Just goes to show, you
never can tell!

Tomorrow I will begin a special Learning for Life group in the same
place for kindergarteners. The residents were real desperate for
something for the little ones, so I will do a special program for
them. I hope it works!

The groups are all sponsored by the Tenants Council of the
development.

It's times like this you really feel good about what you're doing.
