Woodbadge....a great experience for me!

Having completed Boy Scout WB, I must say in our council the program
is terrific. SOmeone mentioned the "stuffed shirts" staff, when I was
going to sign up for it, I thought of the staff as our council stuffed
shirts too, but after participating I found them totally different. I
think to lots of our volunteers they are considered that, but in WB
you get to see another side of people! Most of them have become
friends and have been very supportive.

"Mind games" were fun for everyone and not intimidating to anyone, at
least not that I saw or heard. The staff seemed to play stronger mind
games with each other! But it was all in fun!

The uniform stripping was good, it equalized everyone! Kind of like
uniforms at Private Schools.

My patrol members, (I was the only female) were terrific! Most of us
have become best friends.

Recently when two of our Woodbadgers died, there wakes and funerals
were so full of other WB's it was heart warming.

I have never had the opportunity to take Cub Woodbadge, but do plan
to. Our council doesn't hold Cub WB yet! I ave friends that have
attended it out of council and they could not say enough good things
about it!

WB has certainly been a positive experience for me! Even when the
racoons ate the bread from under my bed! (I slept in the supply
tent!) You can be sure my patrol teased me about that!
