dear skipper sam,
u show a great deal of passion for the sea scouting programme, and
that's exactly what it needs to survive and flourish into the next
millenium. but, it also needs the understanding of what it's future
scouts need in an organisation like sea scouting. one of the best things
about sea scouting is it's flexibility. we don't run by set uniform or
organisational standards that the typical boy scouting units utilise.
kids are changing, and their views of a "quasi-military" group vary much
more than that of 60 years ago when all the scouts yearned for active
military duty.
the best bet for finding the uniforms that suit your unit is to show
them a modern civilian work uniform/dress catalogue. a contemporary look
can convey as much professionalism as a traditional uniform.
and besides, those navy blues are itchy.thanx for the time, jimmy.
