Davis,

I also got my US Sailing Keelboat instructor certification through the
BSA/Olympic Committee grant two years ago, and I also found the
experience challenging and fulfilling. I also had the same questions
that you have asked.

Roy and I met with Tim Daly and Jimmie Homberg at the Houston Yacht club
a couple months ago to discuss the issue of being able to issue a US Sailing
Keelboat certification without having to go through a commercial US Sailing
sanctified sailing school. Hopefully, Roy will have some positive information
from this meeting in San Diego.
