With Dress Blues, no collar insignia are worn. Council Strips are optional
for officers. Some say the CSP does not lend itself to that type of uniform.
As I understand it this is a Venturing committee, rather than an exclusively
Sea Scout committee. As District Chairman it seems appropriate, you wear the
diamond and two stars of a council level commodore if you are the senior
appointed Sea Scout adult leader in the council -- that is unless there has
been a council level commodore appointed. Other council/district committee
members who are not chairman wear the oval and two stars. If there is a
council commodore for Sea Scouting then it seems you should wear the oval to
prevent confusion but I'll bet it is an area where no one is sure.
You'll be kind of like Mountbatten in charge of all the British Army commandos
in the Special Operations Executive during W.W.II, I guess. He wore his
nautical uniform throughout.
