Hi!
I am the new Skipper of a new Ship. Which is the first Ship in the Des
Plaines Valley Council, headquartered in La Grange, IL a suburb of Chicago.
The S.S.S. Coraggio (# 52) is chartered to the Hinsdale United Methodist
Church. What about me, I have 45 years in Scouting. I was a Sea Scout in
the late 50's and early 60's and then a Mate for 3 years. Over the next
30 years I did about everything in Scouting, UC, ADC, CM, SM, AA, Dist
Training Chair, Dist Camping Chair, District Chair, WB, WB Staff, JLT SM,
JLT Dir, Silver Beaver, etc. You get the idea, Scouting is my avocation.
As my wife of 29 years says, Scouting is the other woman. I relocated to
Northern IL for a job this past year from Sunny Southern California. This
is my sixth council in 45 years of Scouting. I am an Easy Beaver from WB
R3-23-LD, 1971.
YISS
