What I don't understand is if Units follow (strictly) the Youth Protection

Guidelines, maintain 2 Deep Leadership (3 deep is even better) and the Buddy

System - would we not all be running interference to potential abuse issues -

blocking adults or other Scouts intent on hurting the young men in the Troop?

This seems to me to be no different than those of us who and Advisors or
Assoc.

Advisors to co-ed Crews.

Someone please tell me why we cannot just use the existing YPG, rules and

regulations to cover this matter?

This is, in a nutshell, the answer to all those ignorant folk who think that
anyone attracted to males sexually is a danger to boys. Even if this were
true, which it demonstrably is **not**, YP prevents access by setting up
barriers to abuse and training youth to recognize and resist.

I fail to see why this isn't enough. Of course, you do have to see that your
units adhere to it and that your leaders and youth (and let's hear it for the
parents, too) receive the training.
