The Family Research Council is an extreme right-wing political organization,
and any release from them must be read with that in mind. What they are
doing here is fanning the flames by jumping to the "defense" of BSA when no
actual attack would seem to be present, given the facts available. (The
Supreme Court has said BSA can discriminate. There is an earlier
Presidential edict against discrimination. A bureaucrat asked for
clarification on how these seemingly conflicting facts effect her job.) They
are doing this in hopes people will begin to associate them with BSA, thus
co-opting the good image of the Boy Scouts for their political purposes.
