Hello Tee,

The list wizards can clue you in on rules. I can tell you what I do and
plan.

As relatively new advancement chair, I schedule BOR's at least, repeat, at
least, once a month. However, if there's an event coming up, I'll pull one
together the next day if a scout legitimately couldn't make the once a month
BOR. Where is it written that BOR's must only be scheduled well in advance.

There is a principle of life (life, as in The Real Thing), called delayed
gratification. If there's even a whiff of dallying from the SM's impressions
of the scout or from the parents, and if the scout is an older one who knows
the ropes and is just messing around, I would have to consider the old
you-know-when-they're-scheduled and you didn't call me to set it up speech.
The key for me would be to talk it over with the SM. What he says is what
I'd back.

Left up to me, I'd pull one together at whatever was the appropriate time.
We're rich in Scouters in the Gulf Coast Council.

We have a Scout who had his 1C SM conference in early May and his BOR at the
end of May...Our next BOR is scheduled for early Sep.
<snip>
Will he have to wait for 4 months after his last BOR, or will 4 months from
the SM conference be OK?
