As a teen, I was on the staff at a BSA camp in Idaho. Since the majority of
adults and youth were LDS, we all went as a group to church.
I had two sons serve on the staff of a BSA camp in Alaska. They were close
enough (20-25 miles) that we could pick them up after the final campfire of
the week (Saturday night) and return them early Monday morning. We took turns
with other parents so we didn't have to make the trip every week.
Since, in your scout's case, Camp Brinkley is a bit farther he could look
into having someone from the ward containing Camp Brinkley pick him up each
Sunday -- he'll likely get a home-cooked meal too. We had scouts at Camp
Gorsuch, Alaska who were from the lower 48 states who did this with success
-- even had some in our own home.
