As a scoutmaster, I like the concept, but don't like it in the camporee
setting. I have enough trouble getting and keeping patrols working
together...this sort of activity doesn't help that. I see a couple of
problems:

First, patrols aren't working together...at all.

Second, some boys within patrols will do better than others, based on these
teams. I don't mind competition between my patrols, but competition
*within* patrols, which this will necessarily breed, is very destructive.

If my troop were in this district, I don't know that we would attend...and I
don't think *I* would have to say anything. I think that my PLC would vote
not to go. We just did a camporee for our district on a similar format, but
based on patrol competitions. It was the best we've had in several years...
