I'm no expert, but am a father of an ADHD child, and have dealt with several as scouts over the years. But when you say that he became "totally out of control and violent, prone to attacks of sudden unwarranted rage" my immediate thought is that you perhaps have something larger than ADD on your hands. I'm not a pediatrician or even a physician, but I'd suggest that your next partent counseling session ought to go further than you suggest. What is his behavior like with the medication?
